October News Letter

To Our Family and Friends in the Lord;                                                                         22 October, 2014

Another three months have passed since the last time we wrote you; time flies when you’re working for the Lord.  The sanctuary expansion has been completed and we are now using it for our services; Praise the Lord, just in time for our winter friends!  Now we have begun another small renovation of the old changing rooms behind the stage area.  Since the sanctuary expansion infringed into the area our ladies used to keep the crock pots and warmers plugged in for special events we had decided to renovate this unused area for their use.  Progress has been a little slow because of financial restraints, but we hope to have it done by Thanksgiving.  We are still awaiting adequate funding to bring our audio-visual system up-to-date.  If you would like to give to this effort just mark your donation, “AV System”.  And thanks for considering New Life worthy of your support.

Well, as you might remember we had our first revival meeting in August; actually we called it a “Spiritual Awakening” conference and that might be the better label for it.  It’s seems to have lit a little fire under us in regards to the spiritual warfare we encounter each and every day.  The conference was very well attended, the teachings for both the men and women were excellent, the music was great fun, and our church stepped up in a huge way in the love offering given.

This spiritual awakening has caused us to focus in on some new Sunday School materials.  We have just begun a new series called, “Walking as Jesus Walked”; which is a study on how Jesus made disciples.  After that we will follow-up with another new series, “Making and Equipping disciples”.   Also our Wednesday evening class has just started a study on the “Believer’s Armor”.

On the horizon is, of course. Harvest Fest, where we have some interaction with the local kids as we hand out bags of candy with Christ-centric materials in them.  We will have our own Thanksgiving feast, followed by a Christmas Eve candle light service.  And we are very excited about our plans for next spring; a Seder Meal.  More news on that to come later; maybe you’ll be able to join us for this special time.

Well I better close for now. Be blessed in your knowledge of our Lord and Saviour.
